For the second year running, Advance Careers proudly sponsored the ‘hole in one’ competition at the 12th annual Independence Australia Daddo Charity Golf Day at Moonah Links.
The event is very important to us because it raises money to support the valuable work of Independence Australia, a social enterprise that provides choices for people living with a disability or other personal need, to regain and retain their independence.
This years’ event raised approximately $50,000 through ticket sales and sponsorship. The proceeds will support psychology and counselling programs which receive little or no government funding.
The Daddo Charity Golf Day was originally borne out of the joint dream of the Daddo family and Independence Australia, to see people living with a disability receive the support needed to remain independent and achieve their dreams.
Advance Careers supplied a Jeep Cherokee to motivate participants to go for a hole in one, which on the day was unfortunately not achieved, but the competition itself raised a handsome $1,300. Many thanks to Bayside Automotive for kindly loaning a brand new JEEP Cherokee for the day. We hope that next year the car won’t be returning to the dealership!!
We are also proud to announce that our highly gifted Managing Partner, Chris Wellock won the ‘Nearest the Pin Hole 16 (Mens)’. He was about two feet away from winning the car (hence closest the pin) and for a few heart stopping moments it looked like the car would be coming home with us as well!!
We had another excellent day out and congratulate Independence Australia on their many efforts and funds raised.
